Imat 400mg Tablet generic name is Imatinib <\/span><\/p>\n This medication is a protein-tyrosine kinase inhibitor prescribed for treating a particular type of cancers such as chronic myelogenous leukemia, gastrointestinal stromal tumors (tumors of the gastrointestinal tract, and other cancers.<\/span><\/p>\n It prevents the growth of cancer cells.<\/span><\/p>\n Available in the form of tablets, to take by mouth (orally) with a meal and glass of water (8 oz240 ml). PO- Dose varies from 400mg day to 800mg day depending on condition. 400 to 600mg day should administer once daily, 800mg day should help twice daily.<\/span><\/p>\n This drug may need to stop\u2014the chance of getting an infection. Wash hands often. Stay away from people with infections, colds, or flu. You are feeling lightheaded, sleepy, having blurred eyesight, or a change in thinking clearly. Avoid driving and doing other tasks or actions that call for you to be alert or have clear vision until you see how this drug affects you. Belly pain. Cough. Headache. Hair loss. Hair most often grows back when this drug is stopped, upset stomach, or throwing up. Many small meals, good mouth care, sucking hard, sugar-free candy, or chewing sugar-free gum may help. Loose stools (diarrhea). Runny nose. Muscle pain. Harm to the liver may rarely happen.<\/span><\/p>\n Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. If it is close to your next dose, skip the missed dose, and go back to your average time. Do not take two doses at the same time or extra doses. Many times this drug is taken on an as-needed basis.<\/span><\/p>\n Suppose you have an allergy to imatinib or any other part of this drug. Tell your doctor if you are allergic to any medicines. Make sure to tell about the allergy and what signs you had. This tablet includes telling about the rash, hives; itching, shortness of breath, wheezing; cough, swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat; or any other signs if you are pregnant or may be pregnant.<\/span><\/p>\n If you think there was an overdose, call your local poison control center or ER right away.<\/span><\/p>\n Signs of a terrible reaction to the drug.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n These include wheezing, chest tightness; fever; itching; bad cough; blue or gray skin color, seizures, or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Signs of infection. These include a fever of 100.5\u00b0F (38\u00b0C) or higher, chills, terrible sore throat, ear or sinus pain, cough, more sputum or change in color of sputum, pain with passing urine, mouth sores, wound that will not heal, or anal itching or pain\u2014trouble breathing. Change in thinking and with logic and swelling in your legs or belly. Dreadful headache. Terrible belly pain. Agitated stomach or throwing up. Very loose stools (diarrhea). Not able to eat. A significant weight gain. Any bruising or bleeding. Dark urine or yellow skin or eyes. Feeling very tired or weak. Black, tarry, or bloody stools. Any rash.
